How to sign in and access Affinity for Outlook
- First, sign into the Outlook account that has access to your Salesforce instance.
- If your team’s security protocols are more strict and need to know what the URL is when loading the sign in pop-up modal that appears, please have them approve of the URL: .affinity.co
- Using the asterisk (*) will ensure that all affinity.co URLs are approved.
- Then, click into an email thread and click on the Affinity for Outlook icon.

- Once the sidebar appears on the right, click Sign In With Work Account.

- Click Allow, then enter your Affinity subdomain to authenticate your account (see How to find your Affinity subdomain).
Actions you can take on Affinity for Outlook
- Click open any email thread, then click the Affinity for Outlook icon. The Affinity for Outlook sidebar will appear to the right of the email.

- Based on the participants in the email thread, you will see all the relevant Accounts and Contacts in the sidebar that appears on the right side of your screen.

- If they don’t already exist in your Salesforce instance, you can click the blue plus (+) button to quickly add them as a record.

- Click on any person or organization to get more information. If they don’t already exist in your Salesforce instance, you will see a blue Add to Salesforce button, along with three tabs:

- Details - Displays enriched Affinity Data and custom Salesforce data.
- Connections - Displays all the connections who know that entity based on synced email and calendar activities.
- There is also an Inferred Connections section specifically shown on organization profiles. Inferred Connections are not based on synced email and calendar activities, but shared work experiences.
- Activities - Displays all the synced emails and meetings from you and your team members as it relates to that entity.
- If they exist in your Salesforce instance, you will see two additional tabs (for a total of 5 tabs):

- Opps - Displays only opportunities that the people and organizations associated with in your Salesforce instance. The field values for these opportunities can be edited from here.
- Notes - Displays the notes associated with that entity.
- You can also click on the Search icon to search for a person, organization, or opportunity.

- Can’t find an entity? Click the + icon to create a new contact, account, or opportunity.

Profile Tab Counts - Connections and Activities
Quickly evaluate your/your team’s involvement with a given contact or account based on the profile tab counts for the following:
- Connections - Count of total connections, including manually added and inferred connections.
- Activities - Count of total activities (synced emails and meetings).
- The count will vary from user to user based on their respective Salesforce activity permissions.
